Eligibility Criteria

The minimum requirements for admission in MS CE degree program are:

  • A degree earned after sixteen years of education from an HEC/ PEC recognized university (B.Sc/BS/BE) in Civil Engineering is eligible for admission to Master course
  • At least CGPA of 2 (on a scale of 4.0) or 60% Marks
  • NTS GAT, ETC HAT & GRE General (with a minimum 50% cumulative score for admission in MS) as an eligibility condition for admission or Test of the equivalent level at the University (when conducted).


The minimum duration for completion of MS CE degree is 1.5 years. The HEC allows a maximum period of four years to complete MS CE degree requirements. Total Credit hours are 30. The Master of Science in Civil Engineering is offered with two options:

Option 1

Completion of 24 credits hour of course work and 6 credit hours for Thesis

Registration in “MS Thesis” is allowed provided the student has
a) Earned at least 18 credits
b) Passed the “Research Methodology” course; AND
c) CGPA is equal to or more than 3.0.

Option 2

Completion of 30 credit hours of course work

Degree Completion Requirements

To become eligible for award of MS degree, a student must satisfy the following requirements:-

  • Must have studied and passed the prescribed courses, totaling at least 30 credit hours, including four core courses.
  • Must have earned CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of at least 3.0 on a scale of 4.0
