PCRWR Delegation Visits NUTECH

Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Director Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) alongwith his team visited NUTECH on 25th July 2019. Rector NUTECH highlighted the need to resolve the water related issues at national level and university's role in supporting water related research projects. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf briefed about the larger context framework projects and undergone activities at PCRWR. Rector emphasized that the future vision of NUTECH with PCRWR will be the formation of "Integrated Water Resource Centre (IWRC)" in new university campus. The IWRC will be constitute centre of the university which will deal with various aspects of academics, skill competency based technical trainings and exchange programs, joint research & developments, labs development, joint degree program etc. During the meeting future alliance work plans related to integrated water resource centre were discussed. Both the parties showed keen interest in future collaboration and joined platform development in water resource sector. At the end, Rector presented souvenir to the visiting dignitary.


Vice Chancellor Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) Visits NUTECH

Dr Faizullah Abbasi, Vice Chancellor Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Karachi, visited NUTECH on 19th July, 2019. Director NSDD (NUTECH Skill and Development Directorate) Nadeem Khalid briefed about NUTECH vision, mission, objectives, education methodology and university's skill development program. Both the parties agreed that universities should promote and play their role in creating pathways for industry linkage. Dr. Faizullah Abbasi showed keen interest in future collaboration on education sector with the university. After the briefing and discussions, he visited CTTI labs. At the end, Pro-Rector presented souvenir to the honorable guest as a memento of their visit to NUTECH.


NUTECH Delegation Visits Italy

NUTECH has been established to produce technology creators, developers and implementers. To develop state of the art technology based systems, NUTECH is building its intellectual, academic and research based relations with the world's leading universities through active collaboration. In this regard, Rector NUTECH Engineer Khalid Asghar alongwith Registrar Dr. Syed Adnan Qasim and Consultant Dr. Muhammad Athar Javed visited University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy on 15-17 July 2019. Vice-Rector of Tor Vergata, Prof. Franco Salvatori, the Ambassador of Pakistan Embassy of Pakistan, Rome, H.E. Nadeem Riyaz together with Prof. Florinda Nardi (School of Humanities) and Dr. Damiano Pinnacchio (International Relations Office Coordinator) received the NUTECH delegation. NUTECH signed an MOU with University of Rome Tor Vergata for collaboration on multifarious aspects of academics, students, training, and exchange programs, joint research & developments, labs development, joint degree program etc.


GIZ Team Visits NUTECH

GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit) TVET sector support program head, Olaf Handloegten alongwith his team visited NUTECH on 12th July, 2019. Director PI&E Naveed Yusuf, briefed the delegation about university's skill development program. Both the parties agreed to work together for future collaboration on vocational and technical skills development education. After the briefing and discussions, the delegates visited CTTI labs. At the end, Rector NUTECH presented souvenirs to the delegation as a memento of their visit to NUTECH.


NUTECH First Faculty Development Workshop 2019

A three-day workshop entitled "New Faculty Development" was organized and designed by University of Utah for NUTECH faculty members from 10-12 July, 2019. Dr. Steven Burian from University of Utah (UU) conducted the workshop. This workshop offers NUTECH faculty members the opportunity to follow a program of activities designed to enhance their innovative teaching, learning and research skills.The program focused on classroom instructions, research process and management. Workshop sessions were structured by aligning selected topics in (1) teaching and learning (2) research and mentoring. Each session included energizer activities, orientation, instruction on methods, examples, exercises, assessment, reflection, discussions, and Q&A. At the end, Rector NUTECH, Engineer Khalid Asghar gave vote of thanks to Dr. Steven Burian for his valuable contribution and making this workshop a successful event.On this occasion, he also distributed the certificates to all the faculty. The interactive discussion of the participants during the workshop had a great impact on enriching the workshop in delivering the desired objectives.The creative and interactive ethos of the workshop sessions will help NUTECH faculty to develop and enhance their teaching skills and assess student learning behaviour effectively.


Laptop Distribution ceremony at CTTI

The laptop distribution ceremony was held at CTTI (Construction Technology Training Institute) in which 115 students were awarded with laptops. Rector NUTECH, Engineer Khalid Asghar graced the occasion as chief guest.Director CTTI, Regional Director HEC, Program officer and Deputy Director NAVTTC were also present. All CTTI faculty members and students attended the ceremony. Rector assured that the university will support CTTI at every level and will welcome all the CTTI students to continue their education at NUTECH on merit basis. He also encouraged CTTI students to enhance their educational standards and acquire their best skills education to fulfill the industry requirements.


NUTECH - Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU) Collaborative Bio-Medical Engineering (BME) Degree Program Meeting

Dr. Syed Adnan Qasim, Registrar NUTECH chaired a meeting with STMU delegation, headed by Prof. Saeed Shafi, to discuss a joint BME Program as per the world's leading programs including Johns Hopkins, MIT and Georgia Technology. During the session roadmap, logistics, laboratories and allied facilities alongwith accreditation requirements of national (HEC) and international accreditation organizations were discussed.


Merit Based Scholarship Ceremony

NUTECH first merit based award scholarship ceremony was held on 4th July, 2019. A total of 13 students got the scholarship in different disciplines. Rector NUTECH distributed the cash prizes to the successful candidates. He congratulated the students and emphasized to achieve highest standards of qualification and skills. NUTECH will award different scholarships every semester.
