In the presence of His Excellency the CEO of the Saudi Electricity Company, Mr. Fahd Al-Sudairy, and the Pakistani Ambassador Raja Ali Ijaz, the Saudi Technical Institute signed today, in the city of Saudi Electricity, a cooperation and consulting agreement with the NUTECH University of Pakistan. The agreement stipulates that the Institute and NUTECH implement training and administrative programs (long and short courses) such as development programs, leadership programs, expert and technician programs and courses approved by the institute, in addition to that the parties develop studies and research related to new technical and professional programs, and to secure programs, trainers and equipment, provided that the institute and your newties Taking the lead in marketing programs and skills that are prepared together. The two parties shall provide all workshops, necessary laboratory equipment and training classes, and support each other in the field of international credits for technical and technical programs.

NUTECH Skills and Development Department (NSDD) achieved its first milestone. The first batch of computer graphic print (Level 3) has successfully completed their course. In this regard, the certificate distribution ceremony was held at NUTECH on 26 th Dec 2019. Lt Gen (Retd) Khalid Asghar congratulated the students and appreciated the hardwork of NSDD team. On this occasion, Director NSDD Mr. Nadeem Khalid and Principal VSS Miss Sadiya were also present along with students and parents.

International anti-corruption day is observed on 9 December every year across the globe to signify the day when United Nations Convention against corruption (UNCAC) was first opened for signing in Mexico in 2003. The day highlights the detrimental effects of corruption on humanity. In this regard, NUTECH conducted "Anti-Corruption Day" at its academic block on 19 December 2019 with a purpose to create awareness amongst students about corruption and its impact on the society. The event commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by the student's group presentation, speeches, group discussion, essay writing on the importance of anti- corruption. The comprehensive program organized in the respective classrooms under the supervision of Dean of student life.

Director Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) Mr. Jawad visited NUTECH on 11 December 2019. He was briefed on NUTECH concept, vision, mission, education methodology and skill development programs. Both NUTECH and PSDF realized the need for future skills and vocational technical trainings collaboration with each other and focused on developing high-end technologies skills by setting up joint partnership to support NUTECH students in the future. Discussion points comprised future alliance work plans and beneficial results to both the parties highlighted. Later on, Director PSDF accompanied by DG NORIC Rana Anees visited NUTECH skills development labs. At the end, Rector presented souvenir to the dignitary as a memento of his visit to NUTECH.

Rector Lt Gen (Retd) Khalid Asghar inaugurated the NUTECH Career Acceleration Program (NCAP) on 11 December 2019. The aim of this program is to encourage and help the students to plan their career, choose the right career path, identify and acquire the skills that enable them to achieve their career goals. The program activities include workshops, seminars, one to one caching interactive sessions etc, and will provide the students with the skills they needs to work as a strong contributor in the workplace. Rector NUTECH congratulates the hardwork of NCAP office and team on achieving this milestone. In his address to the students, he highlighted that NCAP will play a major and positive role in grooming the students towards a successful person, an employable graduates and a good leader and team member.

NUTECH Quality Assurance Department (NUQAD) organized a seminar on "Quality Assurance Mechanism in HEIs and Challenges for Future" on 10 December 2019. Air Cdre (Retd) Abdul Wahab Motla was the resource person for this seminar. DG NORIC Rana Anees Latif along with students were present at the occasion. The seminar focused on quality assurance role, internal and external quality assurance system in HEIs, quality culture and concerns, model of quality culture and quality assurance challenges.

A five-member delegation from National University of Modern Languages (NUML) visited NUTECH on 10 December 2019. Director General NUML Brig Muhammad Ibrahim along with the team included Dr. Muhammad Uzair (Dir Academics), Dr. Asma Naveed (HOD Japanese Deptt, Dr. Aamira Tausif (HOD German Deptt) and Dr. Ono Kaori (Coordinator Japanese Deptt). During the meeting, NUML Japanese and German courses, curriculum, class timings, course fee and duration were discussed. NUTECH and NUML collaboration will benefit NUTECH students to learn German and Japanese speaking, reading and writing skills needed for different Government national vocational skills employment programs.

Lt Gen (Retd) Naeem Khalid Lodhi visited NUTECH on 9th December 2019. He was briefed on NUTECH vision, mission, education methodology, skills development program, international collaboration and future university's education strategic plan. During the meeting, matters of mutual and professional interest were discussed. After the briefing, dignitary visited the campus, classes and labs. He appreciated the NUTECH effort, and gave useful suggestion related to university future plans.

A five-member delegation from Yunnan Jiaotong College, Kunming, China visited NUTECH on 9th December 2019. Delegation participated in detailed briefings and discussions to endorse the areas of mutual cooperation/collaboration related to high-end technology skills. They also discussed Plan-of-Action for future collaboration including prioritization of initiatives and actions such as faculty/students training, curriculum exchange and conduction of Yunnan Workshops. They also agreed to invite NUTECH in upcoming Yunnan Workshop held on the projects related to artificial intelligence and 5 G technologies. Modalities for signing a joint MoU between NUTECH and Yunnan Communications Vocational and Technical College for developing future high-end technologies programs and the partners agreed to sign the MoU in the next visit by Chinese delegation after finalizing the contents of the proposed MOU. After the briefing and discussions, the delegates visited classes, labs and library. At the end, Pro-Rector presented souvenirs to the delegates and thanked the honorable guests with the hope to make this partnership more meaningful in the coming days.

A delegation from Senate Standing Committee on Science and Technology and Ministry of Science and Technology members visited National University of Technology (NUTECH) on 5 December 2019. Senate Standing Committee was headed by Chairman Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and was attended by Senator Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah, Senator Hidayat Ullah, Capt. (Retd) Nasim Nawaz, Secretary MOST Mr. Haris Rehman, D.S/ Secretary Committee, Mr. Qaiser Majeed, Additional Sectary MOST, Mr. Qaiser Baig Section Officer MOST. The dignitaries was briefed on NUTECH concept, vision, mission, education methodology and skill development programs. Later, he had detailed visit of labs, classes and campus. Chairman applauded the university's concept and assured the endowment of facilitation with assistance support whenever needed by university. At the end, Rector presented souvenir to the Chairman Mushtaq Ahmed Khan as a memento of his visit to NUTECH. Earlier on arrival at the university, Chairman Standing Committee was received by Rector of the University Lt Gen (Retd) Khalid Asghar and Pro-Rector Major General Khalid Javed, HI (M).

To promote extracurricular activities, NUTECH Skills and Development Department (NSDD) conducted the Student's Week from 2 - 6 December 2019 with a purpose to provide a platform to the students for proving their true potential talent and enhance their skills. Different academic, intellectual and sports activities, which included Tilawat-e-Quran competition, quiz on Islamic history, speeches, logo-designing competition, stitching product designing, talent show, indoor and out-door sports activities etc. were included in the student week to interact students from different backgrounds to rejoice diversity. NSDD students actively participated in the student's week. At the end, Director NSDD distributed the certificates to all the participants. Student's week is another initiative taken by NUTECH Skills and Development Department to provide a platform to its students to explore, discover, and learn and develop communal bond
