Day of Solidarity with People of Occupied Kashmir at NUTECH

Kashmir solidarity hour was observed at NUTECH from 1200-1230 hrs on 30th August 2019 to express support for people of occupied Kashmir reeling under India coercion and to draw world attention to emerging humanitarian catastrophe there. All students, faculty and support staff of NUTECH and CTTI were present at the occasion.


August 28, 2019

A three member delegation Mr Shigeo Matsutomi, Mr Masaaki Hanno and Ms Miki Satake from Japan International Training Cooperation Organization (JITCO) visited NUTECH on 28th August, 2019. The Pro-Rector, Major General Khalid Javed, HI (M), welcomed the honorable guests. The objective of Japanese team's visit was to discuss the future collaboration plans about TITP (Technical Intern Training Program). NUTECH will send their selected students for this program in future. Director NSDD (NUTECH Skill and Development Directorate) Nadeem Khalid briefed the delegation about university's skill development program followed by briefings on Berlitz program by Mr. Nadeem (Berlitz head). After the briefing and discussions, the delegates visited university's auditorium and CTTI labs. At the end, Pro-Rector presented souvenirs to the delegation as a memento of their visit to NUTECH.

Minister Science and Technology Visits NUTECH

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain visited NUTECH to discuss the future plans for capacity building of NUTECH and affliated technical institutes. Director Policy Implementation & Evaluation Engr. Naveed Yusuf briefed about NSDD visits to Government College of Technology Jhelum and Pind Danda Khan. Registrar Dr. Adnan Qasim gave a detailed presentation on Integrated Water Resource Centre (IWRC) and NUTECH Railway Engineering Technologies School development. NUTECH desires to flourish these projects through the support of Ministry of Science & Technology in collaboration with international universities.

Inauguration of NUTECH Library

Students, faculty and staff at the National University of Technology celebrated the inauguration ceremony of a state-of-the-art library on 20th August, 2019. Rector NUTECH, Engineer Khalid Asghar graced the occasion as chief guest. He appreciated the effort and hardwork of library management in making the NUTECH library as remarkable learning centre. Pro-Rector, all directors, HOD's and university management staff were also present at this occasion. Director Library briefed the audience about the library facilities, resources and infrastructure. NUTECH library is established with the motto "Read, Discover, Innovate" NUTECH library is home to more than 5,000 books and research material. Online catalogues at the library will help students to locate books, articles and other information available in the library. The library is also fully computerized with a user friendly interface which allows students to check availability of books, reserve any books, communicate with the library authorities and download any books through digital library setup. The brand new study spaces with a seating capacity of 75 students, and dedicated group-study areas, along with multiple online resources, make this library an inspiring and creative space for learning.

SESP Representative Visits NUTECH

SESP (Saudi Electric Services Polytechnic) Technical Training Consultant/Trainer Muhammad Hafeez Abbasi visited NUTECH on 9th August 2019. The Rector welcomed and briefed about the NUTECH vision, mission and education system, which focus on creating technology leaders who create, innovate and implement solutions for industry problems. Director NSDD (NUTECH Skill and Development Directorate) Nadeem Khalid also gave a presentation about university's skill development program. The visiting dignitary showed keen interest in future collaboration with NUTECH on technical and vocational skills development sector. Both the parties agreed to start joined collaboration initiatives which will benefit the NUTECH students and youth of Pakistan. A team from NUTECH is planned to visit SESP where possibility of future collaboration and agreements would be discussed. After the briefing and discussions, visiting guest visited CTTI labs. At the end, Rector presented souvenir to the honorable guest as a memento of their visit to NUTECH.

Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU) Delegation Visits NUTECH

Chancellor, Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), Dr. Manzoor H. Qazi and Vice Chancellor (STMU) Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan alongwith their team of experts visited NUTECH to discuss a joint Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering program in future. Curricula of different Universities were discussed and it was decided to jointly work for the initiation of accreditation process with regulatory bodies in future. A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University and National University of Technology (NUTECH) will be held in the last week of September 2019. It was also decided that a joint core team of relevant experts will be formed to work on identifying and developing hi-tech skills related to Bio-medical technologies for the benefit of health care sector in Pakistan.
