Seminar on “Awareness and Overview of TVET and CBT&A System”

NUTECH concept of service to Army Training establishment aimed to analyze existing system of certification and vocational trainings in the Army and purposed a mechanism to enhance skill management of the soldiers in line with prevalent market trends and certify maximum soldiers in National and International recognizable certification regime for better in service utility as well as enhance post-retirement rehab potential. NUTECH supports Pakistan Army to align the soldiers technical and vocational trainings regime with modern practices for better efficiency and productivity by enhancing their skills and professional competencies through a well-designed and implemented “Army Certification Regime (ACR)”.

In this regard, NUTECH conducted a two day-long seminar on “Awareness and Overview of TVET and CBT&A System” on 21 and 22 Dec 2021. Pro-Rector Maj Gen Khalid Javed appreciated the efforts of IGT&E branch and HRD Directorate for making the concept of Army Certification Regime and Vocational Trainings into practical scenario. Directors Generals, Centre Commandants and Advisors on Technical Education attended the event.  Director NBTPE briefed the audience about implementation of NUTECH skills education systems in Army Training Institutes under ACR. The seminar entailed sessions on overview of National Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) and role of NUTECH in TVET, problems in existing TVET system, Competency-based Training (CBT) system, Competency-based Assessment and Procedures, TVET Institutes requirements for CBT&A, Registration, Affiliation and Accreditation processes for TVET Institutes. Army Certification Regime (ACR) concept will implemented in four phases. In the first phase, efforts will be put in upgrading existing curricula with best International practices. Capacity building of training institutes in line with current training methodology is the second phase. In the third phase, efforts will made on capacity building of instructors/assessors with latest pedagogical skills. In the last phase, NUTECH as Qualification Awarding Body will award certificates to soldiers, which will be recognized and acceptable at National and International levels.
