Ms. Laraib Khan

Lecturer (CS)

Introduction:

I am Laraib Khan, Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at NUTECH University. With over 3 years of experience in both academia and the tech industry, my primary research interests lie in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Data Science. I am passionate about exploring how data-driven models can solve real-world problems, particularly in medical Sciences. My teaching philosophy centers around providing students with a strong theoretical foundation, while also equipping them with practical skills for the evolving tech landscape.

Taught Courses

I have taught a variety of undergraduate in the Computer Science Department. Below are the courses I have been involved in teaching:

  • Operating System (CS3413)
This course covers the fundamentals of operating systems, including process management, memory management, file systems, concurrency, and system security, providing a foundation for understanding how operating systems function and manage resources.
  • Web Application Development (CS3193)
This course covers the fundamentals of web application development, including basic web technologies, server-side and client-side programming, database integration, and the design and implementation of interactive websites.
  • Theory of Automata (CS3613)
This course covers the fundamentals of the theory of automata, including formal languages, finite automata, regular expressions, context-free grammars, pushdown automata, and Turing machines, providing a foundation for understanding computational theory and language processing.
  • Applications of Information and Communication Technology (CSG1612)
This ICT course covers the fundamentals of computer applications, operating systems, Python programming, algorithm design with pseudocode and flowcharts, and an introduction to databases, providing a strong foundation in essential ICT concepts and skills.
  • Web Application Development (ACS2413)
This course covers the fundamentals of web application development, including basic web technologies, server-side and client-side programming, database integration, and the design and implementation of interactive websites.

Research

My research focuses on the ensembling of deep learning models and vision transformer. I am currently working on several projects that apply AI techniques to medical sciences, such as developing algorithms for automated diagnosis and personalized treatment recommendations.

    • Ongoing Research Projects:
      • Ensembling of multiclass classification of brain tumor detection using vision transformer and Deep Learning models

Projects

Web Pen testing Tool (2021):  Developed a web penetration testing tool designed to identify website vulnerabilities, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable solutions to enhance security.
