NUTECH Academic Council Brings Quality Inspired Changes, Deliberates on 05-year Academic Plan

The 21st meeting of the Academic Council of NUTECH was held under the chairmanship of  Rector Lt Gen Moazzam Ejaz (R). The meeting was attended by almost all members of senior University and academic leadership including Director General Skills, Dean of University (DoU), Registrar, Principals of Schools of Engineering and IT, and Head of academic Departments.

During the meeting, Secretary of the Council  gave an overview of the progress made on all the approvals of the 20th meeting of the Academic Council. During the meeting, different working papers on the enlisted agenda items reflecting enhancement in academic quality standards were presented and reviewed. One of the major highlights was the presentation of the detailed Academic Calender for the year 2024-25. It generated a lot of healthy academic debate among the Council members, who made a few good suggestions, and finally, the Academic Council unanimously approved the Academic Calender 2024-25. To enhance academic quality, DoU presented revision of curricula and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) of current engineering programs at the University. The Council approved all the suggested changes. A composite committee of faculty experts and relevant support staff officers of NUTECH  presented 5-year  academic plan. The plan  focuses on the alignment of the current academic and support system  with the university’s long-term objectives. After necessary deliberation, the Academic Council approved the conceptual framework and outline plan.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Academic Council Lt General Moazzam appreciated the continuous efforts for improving academics based quality improvement process of the university. He especially highlighted the important role played by the Academic Council in strengthening the culture of high-quality academics and support systems. He emphasized the need for timely task completion and stressed upon the need for collaborative administrative efforts, which should be led by faculty. He commended the examination office for its diligent organization of the meeting and expressed appreciation for all members’ unwavering commitment to elevating NUTECH’s academic reputation.This meeting marks another step forward in NUTECH’s mission to provide high-quality education and foster academic excellence.
