E-Commerce & Digital Marketing (Level-04)

Course Overview

The aim of this course is to make students able to gain employable skills and hands on practice for the areas relevant to E-commerce and Digital Marketing. This specialised course covers several aspects of Digital marketing & E-Commerce such as: Marketing communication strategies & practises, e-business strategies, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Marketing, Content Development, Google Analytics, Facebook analytics, understanding of YouTube marketing, blog and E-Commerce store development in WordPress, and configuring and running different online stores.

CBT Based Program

The course offered for Computer Graphics is Competency Based Training (CBT). CBT program is designed and delivered by adopting a systematic approach, focusing on better employability of the trainees with strong market linkages. It is 80 % practical training with mandatory feature of internship in industry. Through competency-based assessment, the trainees will be assessed after completing the programme and awarded high quality national vocational certificates.

Modules Offered

This course consists of 08 core modules as discussed below:

M1: Introduction

This introductory module emphasizes on study and analysis of the core concepts related to computing, internet, Digital Marketing, Search Engine Optimisation and e-commerce. The detailed course breakdown for this module is as below:

  • Understanding of the course and discussion about Institute’s and work ethics
  • Basic understanding of Computer and effective use of internet
  • Introduction to digital marketing, its applications and job market
  • Introduction to e-Commerce & entrepreneurship

M2: Deep dive in Digital Marketing

This module focuses on deep dissection of Digital Marketing. In this module students will be given deep insight of the key aspects of digital marketing, such as:

  • Keywords & keyword planner
  • How to place keywords effectively in the content
  • Keywords density and keyword stuffing
  • Writing effective titles, meta description and meta keywords
  • Content development, content development strategies and importance of content
  • Advanced digital marketing strategies.

M3: Learning Search Engine Optimization

This module provides the study of search engine optimization. This module will cover:

  • Introduction and importance of SEO
  • On page and off page SEO
  • Understanding Webmasters tool
  • Learning and implementation of Google ads.
  • Setting up Google Search Console
  • Practicing Text Ads, Image Ads, Video Ads, Mobile Ads and rich media display ads

M4: Social Media Marketing

This module entails study of social media marketing, understanding of different social media platforms, and how to use social media for generating traffic for websites. The detailed course breakdown for M4 is given below.

  • Introduction to social media and social media marketing
  • Setting up pages and learning differences between page and group
  • Learning campaign designing and understanding campaign budget and schedule procedure
  • Understanding the fundamentals of Facebook analytics
  • Campaign analytics and understanding differences between reach, engagement & impression
  • Exploring the techniques for getting more likes on pages
  • Introduction & learning different social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)

M5: Fundamentals of Google Analytics

This module relates to the study of Google analytics and other related analytics trends. Moreover, this module focuses on:

  • Setting up Google analytics
  • Generating reports and derives meaningful insights from the generated reports
  • Creation of measurement plan for analytics
  • Creation of custom reports
  • Implementation of google ads linking with google analytics

M6: Word Press: Creating E-Commerce store/ Money making Blog

This module introduces WordPress for web development to make students able to develop their own blog or online e-commerce store. This module will familiarize students with:

  • Introduction to Word Press and why to opt Word Press
  • Selection of a good domain name and best hosting
  • Installation of Word Press on your hosting
  • Understanding WordPress dashboard
  • Theme understanding, theme installation and customization.
  • Making of a money-making blog
  • Creation of an E-Commerce store

M7: Getting into e-Commerce

This module introduces e-Commerce and dissects into depth. By the end of this module students will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of e-Commerce and its scope in Pakistan
  • How to setup and run multiple online shopping stores
  • Develop product management strategy for E-Business
  • Market your products using digital and social media marketing.
  • Understand different payment gateways and manage online payments in Pakistan
  • Develop product management strategy for e-Business.
  • Identify opportunities in the Global e-commerce ecosystem

M8: Project/Internship

This module entails a mandatory internship for the students in an industry relevant to the areas of e-Commerce & Digital Marketing. The main objective of this internship is to provide real-world experience and industry exposure to students that enable them to put everything they have learned into action. Moreover, it helps students to learn and understand how to work (as an individual or in a team) and communicate (orally as well as in writing) effectively and professionally to pursue lifelong learning.
