I am Dr. Ali Javaid, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NUTECH. I hold a PhD from NUST (2024), an MS from NUST (2019), and a BS from HITEC University Taxila (2015). Prior to joining at NUTECH I had been teaching at NUST, I bring over 5 years of experience in academia. My PhD research focused on Artificial Intelligence-powered solar and wind energy systems, equipping me with extensive experience in data acquisition, data cleaning, data preparation, model training, and model evaluation. Additionally, I have expertise in training the machine leaning models for estimation of solar and wind energy outputs, ensuring efficient and accurate renewable energy solutions. Also, I possess a strong command of softwares such as SolidWorks, Ansys, MATLAB / Python, and AutoCAD. Moreover, I have contributed to two successful research projects under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Sajid at the Artificial Intelligence for Mechanical Systems Laboratory (AIMS Lab), School of Interdisciplinary Engineering and Sciences (SINES), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).

I have completed my PhD in June 2024 from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan, where my research focused on investigation of energy/Hydrogen potential estimation using machine learning algorithms applied to renewable sources such as solar irradiance and wind speed. I investigated various models including Linear Regression, Support Vector Regression, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Transformer models. Specifically, I explored the behavior of hyperparameters on the R2 score of Transformer models for time series forecasting. My work involved the analysis of extensive datasets, including data cleaning, feature selection, model development, and visualization. I have hands-on experience with various machine learning models, including Transformers and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, which I utilized for time-series forecasting. Furthermore, my research included an in-depth study of hyperparameter tuning and its impact on model performance. I am proficient in Matlab and Python. Additionally, I have shared my Transformer model via Kaggle for implementation of time series data sets with the in-depth analysis of hyperparameter tuning.
