Dr. Saad Ali

Assistant Professor (Mechanical)

I am Dr. Saad Ali, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NUTECH University. I completed my PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UTP (2024), MS from NUST (2018) and BS from PIEAS (2012). I worked as a teaching assistant at UTP during my PhD and at NUST during my master degree. My doctoral research focused on enhancing the metal-graphene interface in Cu matrix composites by decorating graphene nanoplatelets with noble metal nanoparticles.  I have extensive hands-on expertise in metal composite fabrication, including Powder Metallurgy (material formulation, cold compaction, sintering), Metal Injection Molding (Feedstock compounding, injection molding, debinding, and sintering). Furthermore, I am proficient in advanced material characterization techniques, such as XRD, FESEM, TEM, nanoindentation, tensile testing, thermal conductivity analysis, and coefficient of thermal expansion measurement. With my research experience in advanced materials, I am highly motivated to expand my research portfolio in recycling and additive manufacturing of metals and polymers, thereby contributing to the promotion of circular economy and achievement of global clean environment goals.
