Introduction

I am Shanza Zafar Malik, a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at NUTECH University. With over 02 years of experience in both academia and the tech industry, my primary research interests lie in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing and Data Science. I am passionate about exploring how data-driven models can solve real-world problems, particularly in academic and field. My teaching philosophy centers around providing students with a strong theoretical foundation, while also equipping them with practical skills for the evolving tech landscape.

    A course focused on the theory and application of machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, and deep learning.
  • Object Oriented Programming
    A core course focuses on designing software using classes and objects, emphasizing principles like encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism to create reusable and modular code.

    A course explores the design and functionality of system software that manages hardware resources, processes, memory, and file systems.

Research

My research focuses on the intersection of machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. I am currently working on several projects that apply AI techniques to healthcare, such as developing algorithms for automated diagnosis and personalized treatment recommendations. I have received research funding from both the National Science Foundation (NSF) and private tech companies for my work on deep learning models for medical imaging.

Projectes

  • Deep Learning Assisted Attention Aware Sentiment Analysis for Student Feedback by using Text Embedding Techniques (2023):

In this research work, we used the VIT-VSFC dataset for sentiment analysis of student feedback. We applied data augmentation techniques to handle the data or class imbalance problem. We utilized Fasttext and ELMO text embedding techniques and also incorporated the multihead attention mechanism. We proposed a hybrid model combining deep learning classifiers, including bi LSTM, GRU and Bi-GRU, to address the out of vocabulary words and morphology problems.

  • Automated Vaccination System (2020):

We have proposed a model basically consist of an android app and website for automated vaccination system for facilitating the community of Pakistan as well as workers of vaccination system to tackle the location area and covered the whole child and also send the notifications to the parents of children to inform about vaccination dates that they can vaccinate their children on time.
