Assessments

In the contemporary educational landscape, HEIs are mandated to validate the efficacy of their academic offerings in delivering an education of superior quality that exerts a beneficial effect on students. Accreditation agencies and quality assurance entities increasingly mandate the evaluation of student learning outcomes to enhance academic programs. Consequently, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has formulated methodologies for appraising the caliber of academic programs. This is done with the aim of augmenting student learning and ascertaining the fulfillment of academic and learning benchmarks. The culmination of this process is the utilization of assessment findings to bolster student learning. An efficacious assessment initiative encompasses:

– Delineation of purpose

– Determination of outcomes

– Design of measurement and evaluation strategies

– Gathering of data

– Analysis and interpretation

– Informed decision-making for subsequent actions.

The HEC stipulates that universities periodically undertake self-assessments of their academic programs to refine them and uphold high academic standards. Self-assessment serves as a pivotal instrument for academic quality assurance and offers critical feedback for faculty and administration to develop plans for enhancement.

To realize the aforementioned goals, Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) for each program are generated following the guidelines set forth in the HEC Self-Assessment Manual. National University of Technology (NUTECH) bears the responsibility of executing these directives to maintain and elevate the quality of its academic programs.
