High-Level Officials Welcome Afghan Students at National University of technology (NUTECH) under Allama Iqbal Scholarship Program

A Welcome Ceremony was held at NUTECH for 125 Afghan students enrolled in Zero Semester 2025 under the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Program. Chief Guest Mr. Sadiq Khan, Prime Minister’s Representative on Afghanistan, and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC, along with Dr. Aftab Ahmed Maroof, Rector FAST graced the occasion.

Rector NUTECH briefed them on NUTECH vision and student-focused ecosystem and said “We are honored to host our Afghan brothers and sisters and will ensure a comfortable, secure, and enriching academic journey”

Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed   highlighted education is a bridge between nations. “These students are ambassadors of peace and hope, and Pakistan proudly supports their aspirations” Dr. Aftab Ahmed Maroof, Rector FAST, emphasized regional academic collaboration and pledged full institutional support. Mr Sadiq Khan expressed confidence in the student potential, stating, “Afghanistan future lies in education. We stand by these future leaders.”

Officials reaffirmed Pakistan’s long-term commitment to the Allama Iqbal Scholarship Program, with plans to expand and strengthen it for future Afghan scholars.
