The 10th Meeting of the Standing Committee on Science and Technology was held at the National University of Technology (NUTECH), Islamabad. Mr. Khawaja Sheraz Mehmood, MNA chaired the meeting. The session was attended by MNAs, senior officials from the Ministry of Science & Technology and NUTECH.
Rector NUTECH briefed the Committee about NUTECH’s progress over the past six years, covering academic programs, research initiatives, industrial collaborations and international linkages.
The Committee lauded NUTECH's rapid transformation into a premier academic institution, highlighting its important role in national development. Members emphasized the need for enhanced outreach to underprivileged regions and recommended the inclusion of agriculture-focused programs to address rural empowerment and food security. The acquisition of land and full support for establishing campuses in Southern Punjab and Sindh were extended by the Members.
Later, Committee Members also visited NUTECH facilities, including the Skills Development Department, labs, NUTECH Innovation Center and NUTECH Entrepreneur and Incubation Centre.
