Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) Representatives Deliver Awareness Session on Workplace Harassment at NUTECH

Oct 31, 2025

NUTECH’s Dean of Students Affairs Department organized an awareness seminar on “Protection Against Workplace Harassment” in collaboration with the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH). The session aimed to educate students, faculty, and staff about the legal framework, reporting procedures, and institutional mechanisms available to ensure a safe, dignified, and harassment-free environment on campus and in the workplace.
The distinguished speakers from FOSPAH included Mr. Waqar Ahmad, Assistant Registrar, and Advocate Syeda Zainab Sohail, Assistant Registrar of FOSPAH. They delivered informative presentations highlighting the Harassment Act, types of harassment, the complaint filing process, and the role of FOSPAH in safeguarding workplace ethics and accountability. The speakers emphasized that creating a safe work environment is a shared responsibility and encouraged participants to speak up, report violations, and support a culture of respect and professional conduct. They also responded to participants’ questions, clarifying policy interpretations and legal protections.
The seminar concluded with an interactive Question & Answer session, during which participants engaged the speakers with practical queries regarding reporting procedures, complaint handling, and institutional responsibilities.
The seminar reinforced NUTECH’s dedication to ensuring a harassment-free and supportive campus culture. NUTECH will continue to collaborate with national bodies and institutions to strengthen awareness, advocacy, and preventive mechanisms against workplace harassment.
