Launch of Highfield Centers – Creating Pathways for Strengthening Food Safety Standards in Pakistan

A Ribbon Cutting ceremony of NUTECH being declared as Highfield, UK certification, centre was held at NUTECH on 13th November 2025. The ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmed, Chairperson NAVTTC, Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, Vice Chancellor, University of Haripur, Ms. Jane Rexworthy Whitehart, International Lead Associate, People First International UK and Mr. Ben Lawton Representative of British Council Pakistan.

During the event, the Dean of Skills highlighted NUTECH’s academic and skills training programs, 
alongwith significance of this collaboration with Highfield. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Jane Rexworthy Whitehart provided an overview of the industry-led food safety-training program being introduced in Pakistan. She outlined the project’s aims, objectives, and capacity-building initiatives. Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmed, Chairperson NAVTTC, commended NUTECH, the University of Haripur and international partners for making this transformative collaboration a reality. She highlighted its role in uplifting national skills standards and expanding quality-training opportunities. In his remarks, Mr. Ben Lawton from the British Council Pakistan emphasized that the collaboration between NUTECH and UK partners serves as an important bridge for embedding global food safety standards within Pakistan’s workforce development system. 

The ceremony concluded with the awarding of certificates to Trainers who completed the Highfield training. By launching this internationally benchmarked training, NUTECH continues to empower its trainees with practical, high-demand food safety skills.
