National University of Technology (NUTECH) Conducts Capacity Building Session on Youth Drug Abuse

NUTECH has conducted a capacity-building session focused on combating youth drug abuse and highlighting the critical role of faculty in addressing such issues. The event aim was to educate faculty about the harmful effects of drug addiction on health as well as on the personal and professional life of students. 

Dr. Ghazanfar Ismail Noor Sheikh (Governor at Kingston Hospital, Surrey, UK) shared valuable insights about the psychological and physical consequence of using harmful drugs and emphasized the importance of role and responsibilities of parents, faculty, supporting staff and educational institutions in prevention and early identification for student support.

He emphasized to empower university personnel with the knowledge and tools to identify, intervene, and support students facing substance abuse challenges, reinforcing NUTECH’s commitment to a healthy and safe academic environment.
