NUTECH successfully conducted a three-day Training of Program Evaluators (PEVs) Technology Programs, organized in partnership with NTC-HEC and GIZ TVET Sector Support Programme (SSP). The sessions were conducted by Prof. Dr. Wasim Khaliq, Principal NUSET and Prof. Dr. Mushaid Hussain Hashmi,NED, who led the training with their extensive expertise in program evaluation, accreditation standards and outcome-based assessment methodologies. The primary objective of the training was to equip NTC Program Evaluators with the comprehensive knowledge, practical skills and professional judgment required to conduct high-quality, evidence-based program evaluations in accordance with the National Technology Council’s Outcome-Based Assessment Manual 2023.
During the opening session, the Chairman of the National Technology Council (NTC)/Rector NUTECH commended the collaborative efforts of HEC and GIZ in strengthening Pakistan’s technology education ecosystem. He urged the participants to derive maximum benefit from the training and effectively transfer the acquired knowledge and skills to their respective institutions.
The program moved beyond theoretical learning by offering in-depth sessions on the nine-accreditation criteria and advancing participants’ proficiency in critical evaluation methodologies. Through interactive lectures, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) exercises, case studies, and a dedicated mock visit at NUTECH, participants learned to apply OBE terminologies, gather and triangulate evidence, prepare standardized compliance judgments, and develop high-quality evaluation reports. The training concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, where participants who completed the full three-day program were awarded certificates in recognition of their commitment and successful completion of evaluator training.
Supported by the technical expertise of GIZ TVET SSP, the training contributes significantly to national capacity-building initiatives by strengthening quality assurance practices aligned with global accreditation benchmarks. NUTECH continues to lead efforts in advancing academic excellence, enhancing accreditation systems, and promoting strong industry-academia partnerships to support Pakistan’s evolving technological landscape.
