National University of Technology (NUTECH), Islamabad, proudly commemorated “Youm-e-Tashakur”, marking Pakistan’s unwavering defence and military might, in a solemn yet spirited ceremony held on NUTECH university campus. The event was a tribute to Pakistan’s right to self-defence and the unity of the nation in the face of aggression.
In light of recent escalations, where India launched unprovoked hostilities, Pakistan responded with strength and precision. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) played a pivotal role in safeguarding national sovereignty through swift and strategic air operations. During these hostilities, the PAF successfully intercepted and downed three Indian Rafale aircraft and two other fighter jets, demonstrating superior air defence capabilities and tactical superiority. In a decisive and historic move, Pakistan launched “Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsous” meaning “The Wall of Lead” which successfully neutralized India’s strategic military targets, including key airbases and ammunition depots. The PAF’s precision strikes and air dominance underscored Pakistan’s capability to defend its homeland from the skies with professionalism and resolve.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector NUTECH University Lt Gen Moazzam Ejaz HI (M) (Retd.) emphasized the importance of unity and bravery. He addressed the students, saying, “Today, we honor the courage and sacrifice of our armed forces. To our young generation, I say be inspired by the bravery of our soldiers, for it is through courage, discipline, and patriotism that we will secure Pakistan’s future. Stand tall, stay resilient, and carry forward the legacy of resilience and strength.” The Rector NUTECH further highlighted that “Pakistan’s actions were not of aggression, but a legitimate exercise of the right to self-defence”, in accordance with international law. Rector NUTECH University lauded the Pakistan Air Force’s professionalism and bravery, which ensured the success of the operations while safeguarding civilian lives.
The university community stood united in echoing Pakistan’s enduring message: “We desire peace, but are fully prepared to defend our homeland”. The celebration of Youm e tashakur , featured speeches by defence experts including, student tributes, national songs, and a presentation detailing the strategic significance of Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsous and the crucial role played by the Pakistan Air Force. Participants paid tribute to the armed forces and reaffirmed their commitment to the defense and prosperity of Pakistan.
Youm-e-Tashakur is a reminder that Pakistan, while a peace-loving nation, stands resilient and resolute against any threat to its sovereignty. NUTECH University, aligned with the values of patriotism and national service, continues to educate and empower the next generation of defenders and innovators.
