Pak Railways and National University of Technology (NUTECH) Join Hands to Create Critical HR for Railways

In early 2021, MoR-MoST and NUTECH had signed a strategic MoU to prepare Pak Rlys for ML 1 and beyond. In this context, as a first step, NUTECH offered 3 months skills certifications to PR on gratis basis in 2nd quarter of 2021. Upon successful completion of these courses, a certificate award ceremony of PR employees was held at NUTECH on 22 Sep 21. Federal Minister for Railways, Mr. Muhammad Azam Khan Swati graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Senior officials from Pakistan Railways also attended the ceremony. Rector NUTECH, Lt Gen (Retd) Khalid Asghar, in his welcome address apprised about strategic partnership between NUTECH and Pak Railways in the fields of Engineering, Technologies and Skills. Rector informed the audience about establishment of NUTECH Railways Engineering Technologies and Skills School (NURETSS), which will be a state of the art institute for enhancing the capacities of PR including HR requirements. The Federal Minister, thanked Rector NUTECH for successful conduct of first two skills courses for capacity building of Pak Railways. He appreciated the training standards at NUTECH. While addressing the railways students, he expected that this training will bear positive results in Pakistan Railways functioning. Later, Minister distributed the certificates to 51 successful Pak Railways students who attended the three months skills courses at NUTECH in the field of Hospitality Management and Information Technology.
