A seven-member delegation from the Survey of Pakistan, led by Dr. Asmat Ali, Deputy Surveyor General, visited the National University of Technology (NUTECH) to explore opportunities for academic, technical, and institutional collaboration. The delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on NUTECH’s vision, academic programs, research initiatives, and its distinctive role as a “University for Industry”.
Detailed discussions focused on potential collaboration in the affiliation of diploma and certification programs, joint training initiatives, and broader institutional capacity-building frameworks. Both sides deliberated on strategies to enhance the operational capabilities of the Survey of Pakistan through automation of systems, with particular emphasis on advanced surveying technologies and IT-enabled solutions. The meeting also explored avenues for collaborative research projects, including the development of practical applications in the fields of surveying, geospatial sciences, and civil engineering. Additionally, discussions were held on internship opportunities for NUTECH Civil Engineering students and the design of specialized training programs in cybersecurity for the IT personnel of the Survey of Pakistan.
Later, the delegation visited the NUTECH campus, advanced technology and skills labs, NUTECH Innovation Center (NIC), and NUTECH Entrepreneur and Incubation Centre (NEIC).
