Sydney Accord Mentors Visit NUTECH to Assess Engineering Technology Accreditation Practices

Mr. Zairul Amri Zakaria and Mr. Dr. Hasril Hasini, esteemed mentors of the Sydney Accord representing the National Technology Committee (NTC), are visiting Pakistan to evaluate the country’s policies, practices, and procedures for accrediting Engineering Technology Programs.
During their visit to the National University of Technology (NUTECH), the mentors engaged with officials and faculty. They were given a comprehensive briefing on NUTECH’s vision as the “University for Industry” and NUTECH’s industry-driven academic model Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BET) Civil program, emphasizing its applied curriculum, structured industrial training framework, and alignment with contemporary technological advancements. Later, the delegation also visited NUTECH’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the library, Engineering Technology laboratories and the NUTECH Entrepreneur and Incubation Centre (NEIC) and recently established Department of Student Affairs office.
The visit reaffirmed NUTECH’s commitment to advancing outcome-based engineering technology education in line with National and International accreditation frameworks. By engaging with global mentors under the Sydney Accord, NUTECH continues to strengthen its academic and industrial linkages, ensuring its programs meet the highest global standards for quality and recognition.
