University College Dublin Delegation Visits NUTECH to Explore Collaborative Opportunities

A delegation from University College Dublin (UCD), known as Ireland’s Global University, visited (NUTECH), Receiving a warm welcome from Pro Rector Planning & Resource Engineer Khurram Anwar. The visit aimed to discuss potential collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.

The Registrar NUTECH briefed about the University’s vision and Mission, outlining its academic systems and national qualification framework. The presentation highlighted key initiatives such as national and cooperative engineering programs, faculty development efforts, and various scholarship opportunities. Achievements of both students and faculty were showcased, alongside NUTECH’s international collaborations, which include research and development organizations. The Registrar also elaborated on NUTECH’s professional certification programs, innovative skills development models, strategic academic plans, and the vision for the future campus.

Dr Nusrat Bashir, Regional Director for the Middle East, Africa, and Pakistan at UCD, provided insights into UCD’s global and regional centers, emphasizing its status as Europe’s largest urban campus and its ranking in the QS World University Rankings 2025. The briefing covered the diverse degree programs offered, the number of international students enrolled, and the strategic international partnerships that UCD has developed.

During the discussion, points for collaboration emerged, including the establishment of a future Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Develop & implement split degree program, Research collaborations with NUTECH students & faculty, student exchange program, curriculum development, faculty development, industry partnerships, and provision of intellectual support. More areas of collaboration were specially deliberated, which includes internship opportunities, utilization of short courses, MS thesis at UCD Ireland for NUTECH MS students, Joint workshops Conferences, seminars and training workshops on emerging technologies and other areas of mutual interest.

The high level visit concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to the UCD delegation members, symbolizing a shared commitment to building a fruitful partnership. This collaboration is expected to enhance academic and research opportunities for both institutions.
