World No Tobacco Day/International Drugs Abuse Day

WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY is observed on 31 May each year to raise awareness about the ill effects caused by tobacco.  Tobacco consumption kills over 80 lakh people across the world every year. Besides the human loss, consuming tobacco also causes deterioration of environment. In the same backdrop, Office of Dean of Students Life (DSL) arranged an awareness program to mark the occasion of “World No Tobacco Day/International Drugs Abuse Day” on 3 June 2022 at NUTECH. The main aim of this event was to raise the awareness among students about the health risks caused by the use of tobacco and its impact on environment. The event was attended by students, faculty and support staff. Guest Speaker Dr. Mazhar Iqbal Bhatt, Assistant Professor of International Islamic University, briefed the audience about increasing tobacco consumption among youth and its ill effects on human health. This useful session was ended with student’s question answer session.
