I am Dr. Maria Hasan, a lecturer in the Department of NUSASH at NUTECH University. With over 4 years of experience in both academia and the tech industry, my primary research interests lie in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Science. I am passionate about exploring how chemical processes and innovative materials can solve real-world problems, particularly in energy, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. My teaching philosophy centers around providing students with a strong theoretical foundation, while also equipping them with practical skills for the evolving scientific landscape.
Lecturer, Department of NUSASH, NUTECH University (2020–Present)
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Chemistry.
Academia
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, National university of science and Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan (2020)
- M.Sc. in Chemistry, Quaid e Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan (2011)
- B.Sc., University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan (2009)
I have published nine peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals, such as Advanced Functional Materials and Nano Research. I also serve as a reviewer for several prominent academic journals in the field of Chemistry.
I have taught chemistry courses at both the undergraduate and diploma levels, where I focused on imparting foundational knowledge and practical skills in the subject. My teaching experience includes delivering lectures, designing laboratory experiments, and guiding students through complex concepts in Chemistry. I have strived to create an interactive learning environment that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, ensuring that students not only grasp theoretical principles but also understand their real-world applications. This experience has further strengthened my passion for education and my ability to communicate complex scientific ideas effectively.
My research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of two-dimensional (2D) materials, such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), exploring their unique electronic and optical properties. I aim to control material properties through precise synthesis techniques for applications in electronics, optoelectronics, and energy storage. Additionally, I study electron-matter interactions using electron beam spectroscopy to gain insights into the electronic structure and behavior of these materials at the atomic scale. This combined approach of material synthesis and advanced characterization enables the design of 2D materials with tailored properties for various technological applications.
