I am Amina Khalid, Senior Researcher in Environment and Climate Change and a Founding Member of the European Union Center of Excellence for Climate Action with ICT at National University of Technology (NUTECH), Islamabad. I hold a M.Phil. Degree in Environmental Sciences (Chemistry), with a specialization in green materials and environmental remediation technologies. My expertise lies in climate change, environmental informatics, wastewater treatment, and the development of sustainable materials for pollution control. I focus on integrating ICT with environmental sciences to develop innovative, data-driven solutions for complex environmental challenges, with particular research contributions in microplastics’ removal, ionic liquid-based membranes, and advanced remediation techniques.
In addition to my research, I am actively engaged in interdisciplinary curriculum development for graduate and undergraduate programs as well as academic capacity building. I have played a key role in the development of the MS program in Climate Change and Environmental Informatics at NUTECH and contribute to EU-funded initiatives that promote international collaboration and research excellence. I am passionate about advancing sustainable development through innovation, applied research, and education, while fostering academic–industry collaboration and mentoring students to become future environmental professionals capable of addressing pressing climate and sustainability challenges.
