The primary objective of P3A training was to provide an enabling legal and regulatory framework for developing, executing and implementing P3 transactions, thereby promoting private sector investment towards building public infrastructure and the provision of related services. P3A has the mandate to facilitate federal implementing agencies in developing, structuring and procuring their infrastructure projects on a P3 basis.

NORIC Team took training on under mentioned modules:

•  P3 Project Structuring: Risk Identification and Allocation to Public & Private Parties

•  Role of Implementing Agency/Public Sector

•  Role of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in Private party’s transaction

•  PPP Global Perspective, Pakistan standing and P3A active projects

Personality Development

The workshop aims to cause a basic awareness about the significance of soft skills in professional and inter-personal communications and facilitate an all-round development of personality. The purpose of a workshop was to create a space in which a group of people can meet to discuss questions, brainstorm ideas, identify problems, make decisions and develop solutions. NORIC Team participated in the said workshop and it helped the team to learn Stress Management, Anger Management. Conflict Management, Active Leadership Skills, Self-Presentation, Social Etiquettes and Pleasing Mannerisms.

Intellectual Property (IP) Rights

NORIC organized a Workshop titled “Intellectual Property Rights – Techno-legal Aspects of Patent Filing Process” on 09 Sep 2022 at NUTECH. Faculty members from all departments and members of Dean of Research Office attended this useful Workshop. Mr. Ghulam Mujtaba Kamal, Assistant Controller of Patents and Intellectual Property Organization (IPO), Pakistan was the guest speaker. Workshop was comprised of two sessions in which first session was based on General Introduction of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), while the second session was focused on Patent System and Patent Filing Process. At the end, Director NORIC thanked the guest speaker for sharing his valuable knowledge and enlightening the participants with the IPR and its intricacies.

Design Thinking Workshop

Innovation and Design Thinking workshop was held on February 10, 2021, through M/s AUC Technologies, Karachi. The workshop was planned in line with the HEC guidelines for capacity building of university intellectual resources.

Configuration Management

A three-day workshop on Configuration management was conducted by AERO Team on December 14, 2020 to December 17, 2020 which was followed by five-day training in the end of February 2020. Workshop targeted key areas with the aim of establishment of Configuration Management System at NORIIC in NUTECH to adopt international industry standards necessary for Product Commercialization. Following areas were focused during meeting

  • Establishment of Document Control Center (DCC)
  • Roles of CM in Software Life Cycle
  • Roles of CM in Product Life Cycle
  • Introduction to DO-178B Standard
  • Conformance of Standards through CM

Internship – Placement workshop by PIE

A one-day workshop on “How to successfully execute internship – placement while improving industry-academia linkage” was held at Hazza Institute of Technology, Islamabad on August 25, 2021. The key takeaways of the workshop include Students’ grooming with soft and people skills, activation of societies, engagement with industry top management and CEOs/Entrepreneurship sessions at University
