In recognition of his exceptional contributions to science, engineering, and technology-driven innovation, Prof. Dr. Awais Yasin has been conferred the prestigious Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (TI) by the President of Pakistan. The award acknowledges his distinguished services in advancing applied research, industrial innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology commercialization, while strengthening Pakistan’s emerging innovation ecosystem.
Currently serving as Professor of Computer Engineering and Director NUTL at the National University of Technology (NUTECH), Dr. Awais Yasin has built a remarkable profile spanning Artificial Intelligence, robotics, industrial automation, immersive technologies, and intelligent systems engineering. Over the years, he has successfully bridged the gap between academia and industry through impactful technology solutions and innovation-led ventures. His achievements include winning the prestigious Virtual Reality Cloud Programming World Cup in Tokyo, Japan, the Double Dragon Innovation Award in China, the Prime Minister’s National Innovation Award, and consecutive National Idea Bank Winner Awards presented at the President House, Islamabad.
Among his notable ongoing initiatives is MagicQC, an AI-powered smart quality control solution for the textile industry focused on automated fabric defect detection and intelligent manufacturing optimization. His industrial software and ERP solutions are already contributing toward waste reduction and operational efficiency within Pakistan’s textile sector — a critical pillar of the national economy. Alongside these initiatives, his entrepreneurial ventures such as Foodways International and innovative projects including Smart Helmet and Eyes for Humanity reflect a broader vision of leveraging advanced technologies for industrial growth, public safety, healthcare, and societal development.
