Bangladesh Chairman Universities Grant Commission (UGC) along with Delegation Visits National University of Technology (NUTECH) to Explore Academic and Skills Collaboration

A high-level academic delegation from Bangladesh, led by Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, visited National University of Technology (NUTECH) to enhance academic engagement and explore avenues for bilateral collaboration in higher education, research, innovation, and skills development.

The delegation, comprising chairman universities grant commission, Vice Chancellors of prominent Bangladeshi universities and senior education officials, was warmly received by Lt Gen Moazzam Ejaz HI(M), Rector NUTECH along with them University hierarchy. Director General Scholarships at Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, Ms. Ayesha Ikram, also graced the occasion.

During the visit, Rector NUTECH briefed the delegation on the University’s distinctive vision as a “University for Industry,” highlighting its innovative academic ecosystem, industry-driven learning model, applied research initiatives, international collaborations, and focus on emerging technologies and skill-based education.

The delegation was taken on a guided tour of NUTECH’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the NUTECH Entrepreneurship and Incubation Center (NEIC), NUTECH Innovation Center (NIC), office of student affairs (OSA), Hospitality Management Lab, Center of Excellence, and E-Commerce Lab. The visiting members appreciated the university’s modern infrastructure, advanced laboratories, and practical learning environment designed to bridge academia and industry.

Chairman UGC Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, highly appreciated NUTECH’s remarkable progress and commended the university for emerging as a leading “University for Industry” within a short span of time. He expressed admiration for NUTECH’s emphasis on technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and skills-oriented education aligned with contemporary industrial requirements.

Both sides held productive discussions on future collaborations, including student and faculty exchange programmes, joint research initiatives, academic partnerships, and cooperation in technical and vocational skills training. The Bangladeshi delegation showed particular interest in NUTECH skills development programmes and explored opportunities for training Bangladeshi youth in emerging technologies and industry-oriented disciplines.

The visit concluded on a highly positive note, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening educational cooperation and building long-term institutional partnerships between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the fields of higher education, research, innovation, and human resource development.
