Chairman HEC, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, inaugurated VDI Labs at NUTECH, marking a significant milestone in advancing technology-enabled education, advanced computing, and digital innovation in Pakistan. The inauguration ceremony was graced by a distinguished delegation from Huawei, headed by Yang Shuaifeng (Alex), Managing Director, Huawei Pakistan, and Meng Gencang, CTO Education HQ. A delegation from Zong, led by Farooq Raza Khan, Executive Director (Corporate Sales & Business Solutions/Services), also participated in the ceremony. The participation of these leading industry stakeholders underscored their commitment to supporting NUTECH’s efforts to strengthen technology-enabled education, promote digital innovation, and equip students and researchers with advanced technological capabilities aligned with the evolving demands of Pakistan’s knowledge economy.
The state-of-the-art VDI Labs represent a major step towards creating a modern, secure, and scalable digital learning environment at NUTECH. The facility will provide students and researchers with centralized access to high-performance computing resources and specialized software, enabling enhanced practical learning, research, innovation, and collaboration.
Following the inauguration, Chairman HEC, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar visited NUTECH campus, labs, NUTECH Skills Development Department (NSDD), NUTECH Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center (NEIC) and NUTECH Innovation Center (NIC), where he was briefed on various academic, research, entrepreneurship, and skills-development initiatives.
The inauguration of VDI Labs reflects NUTECH’s commitment to technological excellence and its vision of preparing a future-ready generation of professionals, innovators, and researchers.
