A delegation from Vision Technologies Corporation (Pvt) Ltd, Sialkot — a premier, globally recognized sporting goods manufacturer — headed by Mr. Osama Bin Ahsan, Director, Business Development & HR, visited NUTECH and toured the NUTECH Technology Labs and the Center for Manufacturing Execution System and Industrial Automation, where they were briefed on the University's "University for Industry" model.
The delegation also interacted with the Rector NUTECH, Lt. Gen. Moazzam Ejaz, (Retd.), who warmly welcomed the guests and reaffirmed NUTECH's resolve to work hand-in-hand with industry in translating cutting-edge research into shop-floor solutions. He appreciated Vision Technologies for partnering with NUTECH on the joint development and expressed confidence that the collaboration would set a benchmark for academia–industry cooperation in Pakistan's manufacturing sector.
The highlight was a demonstration of six AI-based football quality testing systems — developed in collaboration with Vision Technologies Corporation (Pvt) Ltd in accordance with FIFA Quality Standards by the R&D teams of NUTECH and Robionix Technologies Pvt. Ltd. under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Awais Yasin, Principal Investigator, National Center for Manufacturing. The systems include automated printing fault detection for football panels, football rebound testing, circumference and sphericity measurement, balance testing, shooting-speed measurement for durability machines, and indirect material thickness measurement.
Both institutions agreed in principle to sign a formal MoU for long-term collaboration in AI-enabled manufacturing solutions and knowledge transfer, and will finalize draft clauses ahead of the next meeting.
