The Higher Education Commission organized the prestigious National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) Award Ceremony to recognize outstanding Pakistani researchers and scientists for their significant contributions to research, innovation, and national development.
Among the distinguished award recipients was Engr. Prof. Dr. Marium Jalal Chaudhry (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), along with the Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI), Dr. Jawaria Usman, Assistant Professor, and Team Dr. Laraib Malik, Assistant Professor, Ms. Amina Khalid, Senior Researcher from National University of Technology, who received the highly competitive NRPU Award under Call 2025-26 for the research project titled, “IoT-Driven Monitoring and Tracking Framework for Healthcare Waste Management in Urban Hospitals.”
The award was received in the presence of Lieutenant General Moazzam Ejaz, Rector National University of Technology, whose continued support and encouragement for research excellence have strengthened the innovation and research ecosystem within the university.
The project focuses on developing an advanced Internet of Things (IoT)-based framework for efficient healthcare waste monitoring and tracking in urban hospitals, promoting sustainable healthcare management and smart environmental practices. The achievement reflects the collective efforts and dedication of the Principal Investigator, Co-PI, and the entire research team toward addressing emerging healthcare and environmental challenges through technology-driven solutions.
Congratulating the team on this remarkable accomplishment, Lieutenant General Moazzam Ejaz termed the award a proud moment for the university and appreciated the team’s contribution toward impactful and nationally relevant research.
