Building on its successful outreach in Karachi, National University of Technology (NUTECH) continued its strategic engagement with industry and academia through a series of high-level meetings in Lahore. Registrar NUTECH, Mr. Salman Zafar along with Dir I&C and NUTECH Industry Facilitator for KCCI Mr. Intisar Hashim Jaffari visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM), Pakistan Knitwear & Sweater Exporters Association (PKSEA), Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA), Pakistan Knitwear Training Institute (PKTI), Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), MSCOT Machinery Co, and Punjab Tianjun University of Technology (PTUT)
During the meetings, the Registrar briefed on NUTECH's vision, academic programs, industry-driven education model, applied research initiatives, and commitment to producing a highly skilled workforce aligned with national and international industry requirements. An important milestone of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PTUT to promote academic collaboration, research, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
Representatives of the industrial organizations appreciated NUTECH's efforts to bridge the gap between academia and industry. They shared the challenges faced by the industrial sector, particularly in research and development (R&D), technological innovation, and the availability of skilled human resources. Industry leaders expressed their confidence in NUTECH's approach and assured their full support for future collaboration in areas including joint research, curriculum development, internships, workforce training, and technology transfer.
The visit reaffirmed NUTECH's commitment to strengthening partnerships with industry and academia to drive innovation, enhance workforce competitiveness, and contribute to Pakistan's sustainable industrial and economic growth.
