NUTECH organized an interactive faculty session featuring a foundation lecture on “Sustainable Synthesis and Technologies” by Dr. Qaisar Maqbool, Senior Scientist at the Institute of Materials Chemistry (IMC), Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien), Austria. The session provided an expert perspective on emerging sustainable approaches in chemistry, materials, and environmental technologies, particularly supporting the academic development of NUTECH’s newly inaugurated MS Chemistry program. The discussion also highlighted interdisciplinary applications relevant to MS Climate Change and Environmental Informatics, MS Civil Engineering, and MS Construction Engineering and Management. Drawing on his research in green chemistry, photocatalysis, catalysis, wastewater treatment, room-temperature gas sensing, and heavy-metal immobilization, Dr. Maqbool shared valuable insights to strengthen faculty engagement with contemporary research and sustainable technological solutions.
