Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, SAPM for Industries and Production MOIP, accompanied by Mr. Freedon Akram Sheik, Director General to SAPM, MoIP, Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Vice Chancellor, NED University and Mr. Rizwan Bhatti, Chief Executive Officer, Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) visited NUTECH. The distinguished delegation was received by Rector NUTECH, Engr. Moazzam Ejaz. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on NUTECH's vision as a "University for Industry" through its industry-oriented academic framework, applied research ecosystem, technological innovation, and commitment to producing a highly skilled workforce aligned with Pakistan's industrial and economic priorities.
A major highlight of the visit was the signing of a MoU between NUTECH and PIDC for the establishment and operationalization of the Center for Industrial Innovation and Artificial Intelligence (CIINAI) at Korangi Creek Industrial Park (KCIP), a Special Economic Zone developed and managed by PIDC. Under the MoU, PIDC will provide infrastructure and facilitate industrial linkages, while NUTECH will contribute technical expertise, applied research, AI-driven solutions, industrial prototyping, consultancy services, and specialized training programs.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan commended NUTECH for its outstanding contributions to research, innovation, and industry-oriented education, emphasizing that Pakistan's future lies in research and development and the adoption of advanced technologies. He appreciated NUTECH's efforts in developing AI-driven solutions for the industrial and agricultural sectors through strong academia-industry collaboration. Describing the MoU as a significant first milestone towards industrial modernization, he expressed confidence that the partnership between NUTECH, NED University, and PIDC would strengthen innovation, enhance industrial productivity, boost exports, and contribute to a new era of sustainable industrial growth in Pakistan.
Later, the delegation also visited NUTECH's state-of-the-art laboratories and NUTECH Entrepreneur and Incubation Centre (NEIC). The visit concluded with a shared resolve to strengthen academia-industry-government collaboration and to jointly advance Pakistan's industrial ecosystem through innovation, artificial intelligence, applied research, and technology-led economic development.
