Interaction of Mr. Ahsan Iqbal and Dr. Asjad Iqbal with NUTECH staff and Faculty

Mr. Ahsan Iqbal and Dr. Asjad Iqbal visited NUTECH to share their experiences in Boeing company and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with the faculty and staff. They were briefed on NUTECH concept, vision, mission, objectives and education methodology. After the briefing and discussions, the delegates visited different academic blocks of the university and CTTI labs. Later, Dr. Asjad Iqbal also delivered a lecture on "Innovation at MIT and Role of Media Labs" and Mr. Ahsan Iqbal spoke on the topic "Research Practices and Collaboration at Major Cooperation". The Rector also formally invited the respective guest to become part of NUTECH International technology symposium (NITS). At the end, the Rector thanked the honorable guests for sharing such beneficial information and presented commemorative shield.

Competency based training (CBT) workshop 2019

NUTECH organized a two-day workshop on competency based training (CBT), in partnership with GIZ (Gesellschaft Internationale Zusammenarbeit) and NAVTTC (National Vocational and Technical Training Commission), on 29-30 January, 2019.This training program was designed to give the participants an exposure about the concepts of competency based training & assessment, national skills information system, digitalized monitoring and evaluation (M & E) system,national vocational qualifications framework (NVQF) registry system, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) communication strategy, vocational counselling and job placement.As chief guest, Rector thanked and applauded the efforts of GIZ and NAVTTC team on conducting this useful workshop. This specific workshop based training program was conducted with the purpose to build the capacity of the masters trainers in technical, as well as in training and assessment so that they must be able to impart training to instructors through cascading model.The workshop session proved to be a great success, as the event received an overwhelming response by staff and faculty members of NUTECH.

Chairman Finland Pakistan Business Council visits NUTECH

Mr. Wille Eerloa along with Finland news channel team visited NUTECH and CTTI on 30 January, 2019 and discussed the prospects of future collaborations with NUTECH. After the discussion, the respective guests visited CTTI mechanical labs, civil engineering labs, auto diesel labs, computer labs, machineries and classrooms.During the visit to NUTECH and CTTI, foreign news correspondent Erja Toumaala took short interviews of NUTECH students. She also had a detailed interview with Rector NUTECH for his news channel Yle News, which will be telecasted soon.At the end, the Rector presented souvenir to the worthy guests as a memento of their visit to NUTECH.

Copenhagen Business School (CBS) representative from Denmark visits NUTECH

Copenhagen Business School (CBS) representative Dr. Abid Hussain (Assistant professor) from Denmark visited NUTECH on 24th January, 2019. Registrar gave meticulous briefings on NUTECH concept, vision, mission, objectives and education methodology, followed by briefings on CBS education, programs and training system by Dr. Abid Huussain. He emphasized that CBS aims to position itself in and contribute to the entrepreneurial development in Denmark through a combination of both theoretical as well as the practical training in entrepreneurship and innovation. Both the parties agreed to create a future linkage and collaboration about trainings and exchange program on different data technology mechanism techniques.The Rectoralso formally invited the respective guest to become part of NUTECH International technology symposium (NITS) as a guest speaker and presented commemorative shield to the worthy guest.

Second BOG (Board of Governors) Meeting 2019

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa chaired the second meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) of National University of Technology (NUTECH) on 23th January, 2019 at the GHQ, Rawalpindi. Twenty one agenda points related to administration, institutional affiliations and the NUTECH employment scale system were discussed. Chairman chief of Army staff and all BOG members approved and supported NUTECH on agenda points.

NUTECH team visits Finland

The Rector and his team visited Finland from 12-20 January 2019. The main purpose of this visit was to forge a long-term partnership with Finland's technical skills program by learning from its best practices in technical and vocational education. Both parties agreed to sign an MOU in March 2019, which will be further translated into an action plan by a Joint Working Group of technical experts from both sides. This will initiate the development of mutually convenient and effective implementation strategies as part of transforming initial interaction into a system of institutional engagement on a sustainable basis for long term relationship. This alliance between NUTECH and Finland will benefit students/faculty in the form of new job opportunities, faculty/students exchange programs and trainings, inter-university visits and actively engage in undergraduate research. This will also facilitate the engagement in industry-based projects, global internships with Finland industry and related financial aspects, scholarships and visas.

NUTECH book exhibition 2019

NUTECH conducted its first book exhibition on 15th January, 2019 at the academic block inside the campus. The two-day exhibition continues until Wednesday. Materials such as reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedia and literature on various fields of engineering were displayed. This exhibition also allows faculty members to recommend books related to their curriculum and participate in the movement of library collection. As chief guest, Dean of the university congratulated NUTECH library management on successful conduct of this exhibition.

CISCO team visits NUTECH

Cisco team visited NUTECH on 14th January, 2019 to discuss the Cisco networking academy program. Both parties have agreed to work together to develop solution-oriented technologists for future industries. CISCO will establish its academy and provide free training, course materials and seminars participation to NUTECH instructors and students.

Japanese delegation visits NUTECH

A three-member Japanese delegation visited NUTECH on 11th January, 2019 to discuss the Japanese government's Technical Internal Training Program (TITP). They were briefed on NUTECH concept, vision, mission, objectives and education methodology and berlitz language program structure. After the briefing and discussion, the delegates visited various CTTI labs.

GIZ NGO team visits NUTECH

GIZ (Gesellschaft Internationale Zusammenarbeit) NGO team visited NUTECH on 10th January, 2019 to discuss the future collaboration plan to meet the demands of future industry markets. Rector stressed that NUTECH focuses mainly on capacity building by creating an innovative set-up for future high-tech fields to meet future industry needs. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including specific technical and vocational curriculum exchange, teachers and students technical assistance in line with competence-based trainings, technical upgrading training, teacher's interactive quality workshops on new system based on standard national qualification framework, job placement center trainings and master trainers' trainings in Australia came under discussion.

Quaid Day at NUTECH

Quaid-i-Azam day was celebrated with national fervour at the National University of Technology (NUTECH) on 4thJanuary 2019 to commemorate the birth of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (RA), the founder of Pakistan and the father of our nation.The Quaid day was organized by the NUTECH students under the supervision of the Dean of students life and celebrated with a renewed commitment to work hard for realization of the Quaid's dreams. With great reverence for the Quaid, the event commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by the students' patriotic songs, plays/tableaus, speeches, documentaries on Quaid's life and his address to students and his valuable quotes. As Chief Guest, the Rectoraddressed the audience and reiterated the importance of the Quaid's independence movement and paid tributes to Quaid's efforts in creating Pakistan. In his speech, the Rector advised the students and faculty to focus on Quaid's principle of discipline in every field of life. In the end, the Rector appreciated the organizers and participants together for arranging and presenting such a good function in a very short time.

Rector NUTECH alongwith Faculty/Students visits Military Engineering College (MCE)

Rector NUTECH along with the faculty and students visited Military Engineering College (MCE) Risalpur on January 3, 2019.This weekly visit during the academic session of NUTECH studentswas meant to familiarize them with the engineering and technology related academic systems and labs support system relevant to their academic disciplines. The faculty and students were given warm welcome and briefed about MCE and its academic systems. After the briefing, they were taken to the different hi-tech labs and centers recently established at MCE. On the site, they were briefed by MCE officials on Building Information Modeling (BIM) laboratories and other training facilities.Registrar NUTECH briefed the MCE faculty, students and officials on the concept, vision, mission and objectives of NUTECH. Later, NUTECH students and faculty had a detailed visit of MCE academic and training facilities. During the discussions, Rector and Commandant agreed to have intellectual and academic collaboration between NUTECH and MCE in future.
